“There’s something weird goin’ on, Witherstitch. I’m onto you.”

Kathy Tailor, often just called Kat, is a 25-year-old human from Skirven. She’s a gardener, and her father owns the apartment complex she lives in, which allows her to own a small greenhouse on the roof. She’s skeptical and extroverted, with a keen eye for the supernatural.

The creature that acts as Kat's shadow lacks oddities; she's a rare kind, a Skirvenian who looks, well.. human. She wears prosthetic pointed ears to hide this, and prays to the Puppeteer that nobody looks twice.

She’s quite protective and maternal over her houseplants, which clutter her and Emmet’s apartment. Her voice is lower than you’d expect, but it's melodic, like she can’t decide which pitch she wants to speak in. Once she puts her mind to something, she won’t do anything else until she’s completed it, which causes her to be haughty and stubborn at times.

She's quite stocky under all those sweaters. Being a gardener, she has to be able to carry bags of soil up who knows how many flights of stairs.

In Arc 2 of StS, Kathy takes it upon herself to refill Emmet's Murkthread spool, travelling to the Stage by her lonesome to help her boyfriend out.

Her mother, like her namesake suggests, was a talented tailor who mended robes for the Church of Umbris. Her disappearance is what plunged Kat into a rabbit hole, what made her start to question what really lurks within Skirven.

Kat herself cannot channel Murkthread. Trust me, the others have tried. No matter what she does, what she weaves or sews, the string seems to lose all life in her hands.
