When he learned that his parents had given him up for adoption at a young age, he was more or less indifferent about that. But then his mother just had to show up at the worst moment possible and reveal that he's a dragon. Not realizing that he lived in a society that despised dragons... Now, Sariankhaýn not only had to deal with this truth about him, but also the resentment of his former friends, neighbors - and worst of all his crush. That was when he decided he didn't want to have anything to do with his birth-parents.
A few months later, he had to flee from his town, because his ex-crush had organized a purge against him. Now, he's settled in a town where he didn't even pretend to not be a dragon, but got the ok from the mayor to live there. Every now and again, it's a struggle for him, still, but he slowly regains his sense of home there. Because the lord this town belongs to didn't give the mayor permission to settle a goldsmith there, Sariankhaýn is officially a money lender now.
His official status as dragon has made some other dragons that live in disguise in the town come to him. They're teaching him some things his heritage brings with it and he's reluctantly learning how to transform, bend fire to his will and the like. It became more of a necessity after a war broke out and he wanted to protect his new home.
