A Nalus from the planet Nalu’Ina, Hin’a works in the hospitality industry and welcomes guests from all over. Her antenna structure, a common trait among those in the solar system, are hardened and pitted, resembling coral structures. They are able to roughly estimate the health state of coral that they come in contact with.

As a member of the Nalu’Ina cultural preservation movement, Hin’a makes it a point to collect records and items from her people’s cultural past and display them locally, working with others in her community to host classes to teach hotel guests about the local cultural practices.

Hin’a’s people live closer to the surface, making their homes among vibrant and massive coral reefs, which they work to preserve and take care of while living symbiotically with them. While initially incredibly friendly and welcoming of visitors, after an incident in which an ancient massive coral structure was damaged due to industrial greed, the community has become much more vigilant in protecting the area from harm; they provide guided tours, which has actually given the area a small economic boon though it’s hardly enough to make the area economically prosperous.

Hin’a’s people do their best to live off the land though it’s largely impossible to completely go off the grid these days. Catering to offworlders is more expensive than one might expect, even if it’s profitable. The main industries in the area are hospitality and geothermal farming, along with using a nearby island as a minor spaceport. Hin’a’s people are naturally heat resistant, and are capable of spending time above water for brief periods of time; this perk also allows for comfortable temperatures around geothermal vents, where a majority of residents work communally to grow crops.

At the end of the day, Hin’a likes to relax and munch on kelp and fresh fish, while relaxing under her favourite coral.
