Virgil was a cruel, cruel man. To him, he was cruel. He'd wanted nothing more than to be a good son, a good man, a good husband, a good father. He was convinced to want was a fault, and that to wish for something- only the worst would happen. That's how it was and will always be. Meeting Lazarus was a sign of hope. A shining light upon his cold, dark world. But, even the sun must set, and so Lazarus had to go. Of this, Virgil was convinced. He felt as though a timer was ticking down the days until Lazarus would leave him too. It didn't have to be like this. He could break the cycle, but alas when all you know is to bite- you bite at even the hand that feeds. And with this, Lazarus was dead.
