Kana was created by a small group of monsters who wanted to create the perfect being that would rival any known creature.
These scientists and engineers were wildly fanatic in their quest to make the perfect being, and found that their captors, the humans, would be an incredible baseline for the job.
So they designed a robot based off what they could remember about humans, adding additional features to make it more powerful.
However, came the day before they finished, and The Royal Guard came wise to the secret operation.
In a desperate attempt to finish their creation, they gave the robot plain instructions to "become the strongest, Protect humankind, and rule the world." and placed their SOULs inside the robot.
However, they made a disastrous error, in that they failed to define what a human was.
When Kana came to, she had no idea where to start, she was forced to define humans herself, and came to the conclusion her creators must have been human. In this mindset, she defined any living being as a human, and sought to defend all life on Arkias.
However she also saw that humans hurt each other to defend themselves and others, and felt conflicted at this information. She couldn't grasp what was going on in a human mind because she didn't have one herself.
Because of this, she began to yearn to understand humanity, and how they act. But she could never understand it, especially not from her high vantage point as a "powerful being".
She didn't want to be a robot anymore, she wanted to be human. She became distant with people, and despite this, found herself unable to abandon her quest to protect humanity.
So she became a judge, with her incredible knowledge, she could protect those who've been unable to protect themselves, and properly punish those who go against humanity.
To this day she still yearns to be human and understand humans, but despite her incredible knowledge, even though she knows what they are, she can't understand what it means.
