Almerin, World 4, Yaevelmia

Almerin never wanted the revered "hero" role, but he got it anyway. Though, not in the manner you might think.

After attempting to assainate the king of Epadran, Almerin is captured but given a chance to live. . . On the conditions that he poses as the hero that the public sees and carry out the hero's role—indefinitely.
As a wielder of the dark element, he can use shadows to cloak appearances; he uses that skill to appear as the Hero of Epadran while fighting the monsters infiltrating the kingdom.

As he is accompanied by a fae named Shula who volunteered to act as his guide, and a lil guy named ɢᴜʙ, Almerin must follow in the path of the hero who might not be as noble as he once thought.
