James Asahi Laurent is an unaverage man meant for an unaverage life. After his 25th birthday the wannabe journalist, eager for fresh ink and paper to write on finds himself in an editor position in west Sacramento and fresh out of Doctoral degree he goes searching for the cheapest home on the market! And where does he find it but in the bright and sunny town of Madisonville, California!

An idyllic 50s dressed little place of only a good 900 people with white picket fences and nostalgia for the good ol' days of America! The *better* days than his present of 1989 his neighbors believe... oh how they stare at him.. see a freak.. an outsider... someone no *SOMETHING* to be removed...

But Laurent just can't take the hint! He stays knowing there's the story behind it all- A sleepy town hidden away on the maps.. swallowing up unfortunate souls never to be seen again... A real cult classic on his hands if he can type it before it's the death of him..
