Phoebe was not born beneath a sky, nor cradled in warmth. She was assembled in orbit, within the silent elegance of the Aurelion Array, a place where stars were closer than people, and life was engineered instead of lived. Labeled PHB-034 she was ever called Phoebe, she was created as part of Project Halcyon.. a design meant to surpass humanity itself, to adapt, to endure, to become something flawless in the vacuum of space.
She was meant to be stable. Controlled. Perfect.
She wasnโt.
Her body adapted, yes.. but her emotions did too. They bled into her abilities, turning light into something unstable, something alive. Energy flickered around her like a pulse she couldnโt steady, reacting to fear, to loneliness, to the quiet ache of being unseen. The more they tested her, the more she slipped beyond their control.. not broken, just too human for something that was never meant to feel.
With pale hair like starlight diffused through glass and eyes that seem to hold reflections of distant galaxies, Phoebe looks like something fragile, almost unreal. But her existence is anything but delicate. She carries the weight of observation, of isolation, of being watched but never held. The small hat she keeps, a soft, out-of-place thing gifted by someone who once saw her as more than a subject, remains her only proof that kindness existed in that cold, artificial world.
The station called her a failure.
The incident proved otherwise.
When containment collapsed and systems spiraled into chaos, Phoebe didnโt fight.. she ran. Through alarms, through fire, through the tearing metal of a dying structure. And in her escape, she reached something never meant to be touched.. a temporal core, unstable and unfinished.
It swallowed her.
