Valor was never truly gifted in the magic arts,
Sure he’s good now, mastering fire magic, but nothing compared to what his brother once was, a master of purity magic at such a young age. While Valor was shoved to the side, by the Council and his parents… he would’ve been fine with that, they were just giving the more gifted more attention, sure… but those smug back-talks, those down grading banter- oh how Valor hated that.
So he made the worst decision of his life, one that he regrets and thinks about daily and always; to use a sigil on his brother.

Ever since then Valor replaced Tolkien in the council’s eyes.
