Rivleondious, Riv for short, is a talented, dedicated, but socially lacking Tiefling wizard. Much too keen on shutting himself away in a tower to study, Riv’s adoptive mother and mentor Imogene sent the young man out on a fool’s errand, so he might see the world outside the confines of his library. Despite his flamboyant appearance, his manner of speech is cold and austere with most. The only subject which might percolate his spirits is, of course, magic. Riv prides himself highly on his intelligence, and hinges his sense of self on this. A perfectionist though and through, he seeks what all other wizards worth a damn do; the answers to all things arcane, the answers to the universe itself. It may seem there’s little Riv doesn’t know. The truth is, there’s many things he doesn’t know. He doesn’t know his birth mother, a human, and fellow wizard who was just as hungry for knowledge and prone to antisocial tendencies as he, but dabbled in more unsavory magics. He doesn’t know she was Imogene’s first pupil, one she failed to save from her own hubris. He doesn’t know that she feared Riv when he was born, abandoning him with her old mentor. He doesn’t know, that when his mother first looked into his serpentine eyes, she saw her own death. But the origins of his birth never really concerned him. All that matters is his studies, his pride, his goals for enlightenment. Nothing and no one can stand in the way of that. He truly is his mother’s son..
