A dancer from Riverbend. Disappearances happen in her town, so she goes on a journey to investigate what is causing them.

Her wife is Solan (after the canon time). Solan and her had known each other for a few months, but got separated when Rilai had to go back home. They met again on their journeys.

When Solan and Li started on their journey together, they went to Riverbend as a first stop. Rilai was dancing in the clearing, two of her friends playing music and singing along with her. Solan and Li walked into the town at the end of the dance while Rilai was collecting tips. Solan immediately recognized Rilai -- a childhood friend.

Solan ran up to her, calling her name. Rilai was confused at first, but when Solan explained who she was, she immediately remembered. Rilai was very happy to see the one since she was two years old. The one she had visited until she was six, and the one she had thought was dead when Solan's town had gotten attacked. She bombarded Solan with questions, but soon noticed Li near her and quickly pulled the two inside of her house to talk to them.

She explained that there were hunters about and that she had seen one of the normal animal-eared humans be almost killed accidentally, and that they would be gone soon. Li explained that he would be fine and he had self-defense experience, but Rilai made them stay in her house for a while.

Soon, the hunters left. However, Rilai got news that something had happened. Another person had disappeared. She explained to Solan and Li that in her town people have been disappearing left and right and that this town had been becoming smaller by the week. She told them that she wanted to investigate what is going on.

Solan suggested that she could come with them as they were going on a journey too. She agreed, even if reluctantly, and they started their journey towards the Plains, but not after Rilai said goodbye to her mother and step-father.
