In the age of Neo-Earth, procreation is no longer achieved through traditional means. The Community is a genetic hive where humans are born at their biological peak. Evolution has refined this as it warps and skews what is natural. Love is natural; why can’t motherhood be?
Dorothea rejected the Community, bearing her own children to the public's dismay. Four of them, as happy and healthy as they were, were raised in a nurturing, natural household. But nothing is more natural than evolution. Each child bore a genetic mutation, each worse than the last like an inherited poison. They developed increasing agitations, discovering capabilities previously suppressed by the Community’s tampering—capabilities the Agency deemed they shouldn't have if they are to coexist.
Dorothea took it upon herself to cull her creations. She dedicated herself to tracking their whereabouts and reaching resolutions deemed acceptable by Neo-Earth. When all was said and done, she retired to the Preservation Initiative on Sanctuary to oversee the unborn once again.
