Kenira grew up an orphan in a science-fiction empire. Determined to honor the legacy of her late parents, she clawed her way into the “teen hero program” and spent her childhood defending her planet from villainous alien invaders. She had no superpowers, so relied on her cunning and leadership instead. 

One day she learns the truth of her heritage: the Empire she serves is evil, she was kidnapped as a child, and the “teen hero program” is a ruse to raise child soldiers who become space marines to take over the galaxy. Kenira is then betrayed by her own people, exiled from the Empire, and ends up working for the very Villains she spent her childhood fighting. She decides to take them down from the inside; only to realize, over the course of the story, that the “villains” ain’t so bad.
