Peter Richter grew up in a cold upper-class household. His parents seemed not to care for him at all, focusing on Peter's older siblings.
The only times Peter felt at peace were in his room, deep into a book or with his closest friend, Benedikt.
When the war broke out in 1914, Peter didn't think he'd actually ever enlist. That changed in 1916. Together with Benedikt and a few other guys, whom Peter never grew close to, Peter enlisted in the German army and was soon sent to the western front.
Peter fell in the summer of 1917.
