Astrophel is the prince of Desmodusk. His innate fascination with the dark arts conflicts with his responsibilities as royalty. 

Though Astrophel's sister, Princess Dahlia, is set to become Queen through Desmodusk's matriarchy, men of the family are expected to become knights and politicians. He was skilled in swordplay but truly shined in his prowess in blood magic, a typically female associated practice he picked up pre-transition.

This sparked his interest in the forbidden art of necromancy. He takes the opportunity to study it further by leaving home with Cell and her team, after great consideration and turmoil over the decision.
