A crazed former priest who belonged to the Umbris Church. He was exiled for his demented practices and refusal to worship Cyfrin Selvage as Skirven's savior, believing Ego Darning was on the right side of history. Sorion was responsible for Ego's return and the construction of Emmet Witherstitch, claiming to hear voices and prophecies from the Stage.

He's a madman, one lost to the lie of ascension that St. Ego promised. He was a devoted fanatic, and managed to contact his patron through Murkthread and tarot magic. Ego, enthusiastic that he still had followers in the Mortal Plane, demanded Sorion construct him a vessel—a being with no shadow, so that Ego's own may be sewn into its flesh. This would allow him to return to Skirven and carry out The Shrouding.

Sorion accepted his request and, after several failed attempts and illegally smuggling the last of the Church's Murkthread reserve, created Emmet Witherstitch out of mortal flesh and shadow fabric. Sorion was dragged to the Stage for a while after, and upon his return, searched the city for his rogue puppet. He kidnapped two Skirvenians to assist him; Sapphire and Opal Spindle, renamed Salem and Trix under his control. Both of their memories were skewed, and they were brainwashed into serving Sorion until rescued by Emmet and the others.

Sorion died by his own creation. He was beheaded by Emmet after Ego successfully took over his body.
