A 'Starrvamp' who was taken away to be raised by regular vampires after his parents were killed. They held high hopes for him from the start due to him being one of the rare few Starrvamps + the fact his biological parents were very smart; so, Octavius threw himself into studying, wishing to learn as much as possible & not disappoint his new parents who were kind enough to take him in; he's became quite smart as a result, & even developed an interest & talent for alchemy. Once he hit adulthood; his new parents arranged a marriage between him & the daughter of another vampire family, Eeirie; hoping they'd produce more Starrvamps.

The two eventually came to adore one another; unfortunately, Eeirie wanted a family, so when she discovered Tavi wouldn't be able to give her children, she left him; they'd grown to truly love each other, but Eeirie's dreams simply could not be fulfilled here, so it could not work. But despite this, they still remained very close; Eeirie became Tavi's dearest friend.

Acquired an apprentice later on, after the teen vampire Merel pleaded to become Octavius' apprentice & learn alchemy from him; Tavi had no interest of taking an apprentice, but Merel seemed desperate & Tavi could tell he had talent.

Eventually, a mysterious illness affecting only vampires would break out; & because Tavi's bio parents had a key role in curing the last plague the vampires faced, the most respected families called on Tavi to find a cure, threatening him with death if he didn't comply & find the source & cure; stressing Tavi out greatly & spurring him into action, leading to even more sleepless nights than before.

One day while doing fieldwork, his guards would be brutally attacked by a peculiar strong vampire, Valerick, who nearly attacked Tavi himself wanting the man's blood; Tavi managed to talk the crazed fellow out of it & reason with him, ultimately managing to rope Valerick into helping him with his goal via promising a taste of his blood if he complied.
