She's the only daughter of the void lurker's kingdom, and so her engagement to shamsie was planned before hand a few years before the actual engagement.
She was taught to be obedient and silent and to never opposeher future partner(mostly cause darkstars had a history of being unpredictable and dangerous) she didn't really want to get married off to some stranger but their planet was being threatened by a neighbouring kingdom and they needed the darkstar's protection so she kept her mouth shut.as long as she can grow a garden of plants she's okay with living like that.
On the engagement day she finally got to see her fiancé.. she looked.. kinda different from what qumo expected, she was a bit short and looked really calm, though she needs to not rely on looks alone.. she still had to keep silent and agree to anything she says.. atleast that's what her parents taught her.though as she spent some time alone with shamsie she was surprised by how carefree and nonchalant the darkstar was,it was kinda..cute, maybe she wouldn't have a boring marriage life after all.with time passing the two grew a very strong bond, they matched eachother's playfulness and calmness so well
