Something important about dystopian worlds that I think people forget:

HAIR. Dystopian worlds are normally pretty stressful. When people are stressed, their hair tends to do two things: go gray, or fall out. So, I propose this: what about a dystopian society where a marginalized community uses their hair to record things; maybe using braiding or beads or crowns? I imagine that people would be forced to go bald to hide the signs of severe stress. Idk man I have one book to write right now but maybe I’ll get to that one in the distant future.
