In human form, their fur is about twice as dense as the average human's, and grows a little less than twice as fast. According to statistics, the average werewolf spends twice as much on shaving cream as the average person. When unshaven, this fur acts as insulation, protecting them from the cold and the heat by keeping both out (to an extent).
