***What was, can never be***
Melodine is a world long dead. It faced apocalypse long ago, but its people persisted. The world was broken into three pieces; the Outer Fragments, the Inner Fragments, and the Core. The Outer Fragments are completely uninhabitable, swarmed with monsters. The Inner Fragments are better, but still dangerous. For the first hundred years or so after the Fracture, the remaining people lived on the Inner Fragments until a city was built on the less dangerous Core. 
Left behind by their gods, the divinity of Melodine was left in Aspect crystals. Crystals made of pure divinity that granted power to any that could control them, but corruption to those who couldn't. They created both the monsters and the Heroes. Heroes are brave souls who are strong enough to bear the burden of divinity without being consumed by it. They take on the domain of their Aspect, and fight the monsters to protect all that remains of Melodine.

The world for a TTRPG campaign I'm running (soonish), and my main project. I'm working on it rn so expect lots of worldbuilding soon
