NMM takes place in a kingdom called Seagrave, where shops and houses are perched upon islands and stilts, due to the consequences of "The Flooding Wars" seventy years previous. It's not the most proper area, but the people living there are happy and safe.

However, not everything is safe forever. Soon, the ex- queen and king of Seagrave go missing, and more townspeople are as well. On top of that, there's weird fog/smoke clouds boxing in the borders of the kingdom, that even the lighthouses can't deter. 

Adventure and action calls to six people in particular. These are,
-The king of Seagrave, Emery
-The head chef of the Seagrave Palace, Peony
-A frightened newcomer and fallen angel, Gidget
-A new widow, Hawthorn
-The combat apprentice of Emery, Alamenth
-And the apprentice of Peony, Gossamer

While all of these creatures are different and inexperienced in fighting evil, they can't just sit around and wait for someone else to fight their battles. While traveling areas of Seagrave and Alistrom that they'd never heard of, the group has chances to improve themselves through emotionally intense fights with their enemies. It'll be a while until they're able to win the fight, but they're sure going to try.
