The Dragonfire Carnival is a dazzling traveling circus where dragons from all across Pyrrhia come to perform, entertain, and escape the lives they left behind. Its mysterious Ringleader has personally gathered each performer, offering them a place to belong after they were rejected, shunned, or cast aside by their tribes.

For the first time, these outcasts have a family.

But everything changes when Ladybird, the carnival's beloved beauty and talented trapeze artist, is found dead after a performance.
Panic spreads through the carnival. Every dragon has a motive. Every performer has secrets. And with the Ringleader refusing to let anyone leave until the truth is uncovered, suspicion begins tearing their strange little family apart.
