A romance-obsessed vampire who is also very much a dreamer, and convinced his dreams must be 'prophecies' of sorts, things destined to happen, albeit people rarely believe his claims, simply writing him off as overzealous, too confident in himself; perhaps even slightly insane.

A dream he's particularly convinced will happen and is eagerly awaiting due to his obsession with love and romance, is a dream he's had of finding his own beloved, his own one true love; a chance encounter during a blood moonlit night by the lake, where he'll meet the person he's destined to be with and they'll fall in love. His dreams never give the person a face, or anything identifying really; so in the end, all he can do is wait patiently for the time to arrive when he'll happen to be at the right place, at the right time during a blood moon to meet his future beloved in a romantic encounter. He is 100% convinced this dream in specific will come true, and no amount of reasoning will convince him otherwise; he'll continue eagerly, patiently waiting and longing for the supposedly fated night.

Until then, he has taken up the job of essentially being Merel's babysitter during times the younger vampire's mentor isn't around to keep him in line instead. Its a job he does not particularly care for, as Merel is... Not exactly easy to manage, but regardless of how much on a daily he thinks of ways to murder the manchild of a vampire who grates on his nerves so very badly, the job pays the bills, and someone has to supervise the infuriating and unpredictable fellow when Merel's mentor Octavius isn't around to do so; and it is a job Quinciel is not sure he'd wish on even his worst enemies.
