"Music to my ears!"
1955 .
San Francisco's own "Saturne's Gaze" is a seemingly unheard of jazz band up until one Mr. ISAAC ANTONY came along with his seemingly unprecedented skill and talent. An excellence that led to the band's newfound fame and stardom by the mid 50s with eyes all landing on the once unheard of pianist..
But Isaac is no fan of fame. The eyes, the deals, the industry that wants to eat him and his bandmates alive for a quick record deal - it can drive a man to snap! So when he does snap, and in a drunken stupor kills a pretty well known label executive looking for 90% of the band's profits, Isaac panics and flees to the closest person he knows in the area - acquaintance and bandmate Mr. SAM MORTON - Isaac confesses to the murder in his hysterics, expecting judgement and shame from the saxophonist, only rather than shame or judgement.. he gets understanding and encouragement..
For Sam, he sees Isaac's 'mistake' as a chance to go forth with vigilante justice, take a punch at the corrupt, the greedy, the downright deplorable men of their industry - not only asking Isaac to continue, but to work alongside him..
Be warned, reader! This thriller contains themes of racism / systemic injustice, war, gore + cannibalism, and of course murder (though not much to wince at) .. The risk is yours
